Quem Somos
My name is Catarina M. Inácio and I'm happy and delighted to be the CEO of Catarinices – Feel Funky – Feel Pico.
With a degree in cinema and television and a master's degree in community theater, I bring an enriching artistic and theatrical experience to Catarinices.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with several theater companies and associations, exploring various forms of artistic expression and human movement.
I'm Joana and I'm from Pico. I left the island to follow my dream of being a Kindergarten Teacher, but the island never left me.
I returned home to embrace a new and unique Educational project on the island of Faial (Jardim do Mar), where the priority was the Child Being, Nature, Non-violent Communication, Active Listening and Full Attention to the Interests of the Child. I really like nature and hiking, I like music, singing, dancing, telling stories and I practice yoga. I looked into yoga because I noticed how busy adults are and how this in turn ends up influencing children. I am interested in other pedagogies, such as: Waldorf and Forest School, as well as positive discipline and conscious parenting, participating in some trainings.
